What is a Psy.D.?
Psy.D. stands for Doctor of Psychology. Similar to a Ph.D., it is a doctoral level
degree awarded to people training to practice psychology. The two degrees
differ in the training received. Ph.D. programs have a stronger emphasis on
research, where Psy.D. programs emphasize clinical practice. Often,
psychologists trained in either degree do similar work.
